Yosemite's Alpine Ecology: In the Spirit of Sharsmith July 25-26
Go where few Yosemite visitors have gone before as you explore life at the park's higher elevations! Join expert Yosemite naturalist, Michael Ross, who is a student of the famed alpine ecology master, Carl Sharsmith, the oldest naturalist-ranger in National Park Service history. Michael will share a real insider's view of the landscape and environment that thrives above the tree line. You'll encounter fascinating geology and wildlife, while learning about the distinctive alpine flora and fauna of the Sierra Crest. During a series of guided day hikes, Michael will provide ample opportunity for hands-on activities so you can discover the diversity of life above Tuolumne Meadows. The trip begins on Saturday morning in Tuolumne Meadows and runs through Sunday afternoon.
The Experience Package includes camping at Tuolumne Meadows Campground in Tuolumne Meadows from July 24-27. Camping is not required to participate. Park entry is also included, as needed.
