Yosemite Birding: The Day of the Woodpecker December 5, 2015
Did you know there are 11 species of woodpeckers found in Yosemite - more than in any comparable area in the United States? Here is your chance to spend a day with Yosemite Conservancy's expert naturalist watching these industrious birds and learning about their diverse habitats and behaviors. December is a particularly great time for spotting woodpeckers in Yosemite, with less foliage on trees and without the distraction of summer breeding birds. Spend a day in good company, as you observe these fascinating birds. This program will kick off on Saturday morning in El Portal, then carpool to different areas in Yosemite and conclude in Yosemite Valley around 4 pm.
The Experience Package includes camping at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley from Dec 4-6. Camping is not required to participate. Park entry is also included, as needed. Upgrade your accommodations to stay at Yosemite Lodge from Dec 4-6, available up to 45 days prior to your trip. Information about upgrading your package will be emailed after you sign up.
